Training, Firearms, Florida, Follow Thought, Calling The Shot
Follow Through - Is also the student ability to control the
pistol AND the trigger after the shot has been fired. A
student should maintain finger contact on the trigger and
hold it to the rear as the shot is fired. by />
The student should ONLY release the trigger after he/she HAS
reacquired the front sight. Only releasing the trigger far
enough to “reset”
The student should immediately refocus on the front sight as
you did for the original shot. Then continue to the second
shot by simply applying pressure on the trigger finger for
the shot.
The student should understand that Follow Through is
essential to accurately firing successive shots. Then
returning to his/her original firing position while
immediately obtaining the hard focus on the front sight. All
this is accomplished while maintaining the control of the
firearm.

| Follow Through: is the conscious attempt to keep all control factors applied through the break of the shot. | Lack of Follow Through – Is when a shooter fails to maintain concentration on sight alignment and trigger even after the shot is on the way. Follow Through is not to be confused with recovery. |
Recovering from recoil and reestablishing the hold
and sight alignment after the shot is fired is no
indication that you are following through. |
